Rotary Club of Stevens Point Awards 2015 Scholarships

Four local scholars have been awarded a $1,000 scholarship by the Rotary Club of Stevens Point.
The students can apply the funds to the school of their choice to pursue, or continue, their chosen field of study. The scholarships are awarded annually by the club from a list compiled by the Rotary Foundation Committee, with input from area school counselors.
UWSP – Dominic Thompson, a 4.0 GPA is pre-engineering who will transfer to a school for Industrial Engineering. Parents are Donald and Melissa.
MSTC – Janessa Lepak, a graduate of SPASH, is studying for her degree as an EMT and will continue to earn the prestigious Paramedic Technician designation. She also plans to take fire training to become a firemedic. Parents are Tim and Michelle
SPASH – Hannah Selwyn heads to Yale after a year in the New York area teaching as part of AmeriCorps program. Hannah recently returned from a year abroad In Brazil as a Rotary Exchange Student; her local Brazil club awarded her the prestigious Paul Harris Award for her volunteerism and related activities while in Brazil, an award normally given only to members of the sponsoring club. Parents are Dr. and Mrs. Selwyn.
Pacelli High School – Sami Kay Shafranski is headed to Northern Iowa for nursing or physical therapy. She will be on a softball scholarship. Parents are Jim and Barb.
