City Times Staff
Stevens Point police say a convicted sex offender will soon be released from prison.
Wells A. Oswalt, 72, pleaded guilty in 1993 to two charges of 1st degree sexual assault of a child and one count of incest with a child. He is expected to be released in the Stevens Point area on August 11.
Oswalt’s victim was a minor female. He has completed his sentence and is not wanted by police at this time.
Oswalt is described by police as a white male, 6’1″, about 220 lbs with gray hair and blue eyes.
In a news release from SPPD, law enforcement warn the release of this morning is to educate residents.
“Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated,” the release reads.
Anyone with questions or concerns should contact Sgt. Paul Piotrowski at 341-4103.
