Marion Rose Makuski of Arnott, went peacefully into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 22, 2015.

Marion was born in Custer on July 9, 1928, to the late Edward and Mary (Wysocki) Groholski. On October 25, 1947, she married the love of her life, Charles Makuski, and they polka’ed through their 56 years of marriage.

At home, in the weeks before her death, she was surrounded by her loving family. Marion was strong in her faith and instilled this in her family whom she cherished. She loved to pick flowers, go on the annual fall shopping trip with her daughters, continued dancing even though no one could dance as good as Charlie. If she ever heard of a need she was always there to help which is part of the reason she worked for 20 years at River Pines Nursing Home and served on St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church Rosary Society.

She is survived in life by her children: Linda (Jerry) Runyan, Oshkosh; Chuck (Fiancee Karla Zogata) Makuski, Stevens Point; Debbie (Rick) Wherritt, Plover; Pam (Bob) Bendixen, Bancroft; Meribeth (Stan) Bower, Stevens Point; Bill (Debra) Makuski, Ada, MI. Grandchildren: Scott Majeski; Heather (Adonis) Lenzy; Matt (Sarah) Gaboda; Alyssa (Jason) Clausen; Tracy (Jeff) Bartlett; Chad Wherritt; Kirk (Keli) Wherritt; Savannah (Chris) Hebior and Austin Bower; Mitch (Sarah) Shephard, Kaitlin Makuski, Caleb Makuski. Great-Grandchildren: Grayson and Kherington Lenzy, Jaden and Shae Bartlett; Taylyn Clausen; Aubrie, Emery, Cole Gaboda, Kenzie and Gavin Wherritt; Erick and Emily Shephard. Other family members: sister, Millie (Bert) Glodowski; brother-in-law, Mike (Lorraine) Groshek; sister-in-law, Elaine (Makuski) Sopa; Special niece and nephew, Rosalie and Richard Knisbeck; Special granddaughter, Nicky Patoka; God-children, Dana Breed, Judy Klosinski, Jim Sopa, Thaddeus Swiggum; and of course the many grand puppies.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles; her parents, Ed and Mary; infant brother, Edward; brother, Lawrence; sister, Lorraine.

Visitation is at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street, Stevens Point, on Tuesday, August 25th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church-Fancher at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26th, with visitation 1 hour before service at church. The Rev. Daniel H. Hackel will officiate. The St. Mary of Mount Carmel Rosary Society will combine with the parish rosary at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the family. For online condolences, please visit www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be set up in her honor in the research of dementia, Ministry Medical Hospice and American Diabetes Association.

Honoring her wish to stay at home, her loving family and caregivers were able to fulfill those wishes. A very special thank you to Miss Joan and Jane for the loving care that they showed our Mother.

And He said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” Luke 23:43
