Susan G. Szymkowiak, age 72, of Stevens Point, died at home on August 24, 2015.

Sue was born to the late William and Lucy (Engelbert) Dehlinger in Stevens Point, WI. She grew up here, attended the local catholic grade schools, and graduated from Maria High School.

She worked for Sentry Insurance before dedicating her life to family and raising Bob Jr. Sue married Robert “Bob” Szymkowiak on September 25, 1965 at St Stanislaus Catholic Church.

Sue will be remembered for her outgoing and social nature. In her earlier years, she enjoyed snowmobiling, snowmobiling trips, and baking wedding cakes with her mother. Sue liked to cook and trying new recipes; which her husband and son enjoyed sampling. In her spare time, she also enjoyed crocheting and crafting. Family was important to her and Sue enjoyed family time boating on the Chain O’ Lakes. She was a member of the Westside Stump Jumpers, Women of the Moose, AMVET’s Auxiliary 1051, and the WI River Lioness Club.

Survivors include Bob of Stevens Point; son, Bob Jr. of Waupaca; nephews, John and Bill; niece, Jody; several cousins; extended family members; and numerous friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Jim and Bill.

A Time of Sharing Memories will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Boston Funeral Home. A Women of the Moose and AMVET’s Auxiliary ritual will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.bostonfuneral.net.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lions Camp, Rosholt.
