POTD: Excited Parents

In one of the final acts of summer, parents across the Stevens Point School District this week registered students for public school.
The district’s more than 7,000 students attend the first day of classes on Sept. 1 under a new superintendent, Dr. Lee Bush.
Local law enforcement say they plan to be out in force watching for pedestrian and bus safety, especially during the first few weeks of school.
“We’ll be out watching for traffic infractions and speeding,” said Chief Deputy Dan Kontos. “So if you aren’t a safe driver you can expect to be pulled over.”
