Portage Co. Man Dies After Being Pinned Under Car

The Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office has reported a 62-year-old man has been killed after being run over by a vehicle in the Town of Lanark.
Dispatchers received a 911 call reporting the accident at 10:46 AM Saturday. Emergency crews found the man pinned under a vehicle in the driveway of a residence. The man was freed but did not survive.
The driver of the vehicle was a 49-year-old woman who was not injured.
Amherst Fire, Amherst Rescue, Amherst First Responders, the Portage Co. Coroner and Ambulance Service all responded to the scene along with Portage County Deputies.
Deputies are not releasing the location of the accident at this time. Lt. Jim Pozniak said it “wouldn’t take much for people to figure out who it was” if the information was released.
Pozniak added the female driver was not taken into custody, saying “everything points to this being an accident”.
