UWSP Named 5th “Most Underrated” Theater College

According to the Connecticut-based website Onstage.com, UWSP has the 5th most underrated theater college in the Midwest.
The study included metrics of faculty experience, curriculum, facility and tuition costs. In the case of UW-Stevens Point, the study took into the numerous current faculty members experienced working in film, television and Broadway.
The study also noted multiple UWSP alumni who went on to Broadway careers including Susan Spencer, Andrew Cao, Ruthie Baker and Laura Osnes.
The college has also hosted numerous clinics by world-renowned musicians and actors, to include Mandy Patankin, Patti Lupone, Dan Davies and Yo-Yo Ma.
The study concluded the cost of attendance at UWSP was “steal” given the quality of the theater program with in-state tuition just over $17,000.
Other schools in the Top 5 include University of Memphis; Denison University in Granville, Ohio; Millikin University in Decatur, Ill.; and Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
