Names Released in Saturday’s Fatal Accident

The Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office has released the names of two individuals involved in a fatal Saturday morning accident.
Emergency crews were called to a Lanark home at 10:46 AM to find 62-year-old Edward Stoetzel pinned under a vehicle driven by his 49-year-old wife Rhonda.
Mr. Stoetzel was eventually freed from under the vehicle but did not survive.
According to a Monday morning news release from the sheriff’s office, there are “no indications that this was anything more than a tragic accident”, though the investigation is ongoing.
No further information was immediately available. The news released promised additional details when the investigation is complete.
