August 28

Do The Dew: A 42-year-old male was charged with retail theft after attempting to steal a 20 oz. and 1 liter bottle of Mountain Dew from the Kwik Trip store at 1600 Maria Dr. at 1:00 AM.

Craigslist Scam: A 60-year-old Stevens Point woman reported to police at 10:00 AM that she was the victim of a Craigslist scam. No details on the scam itself were given.

Mailbox Fatality: An Amherst Junction man called police at 10:24 AM to report mailbox had been damaged on the 4200 block of Main St. in Stevens Point.

Hold Your Horses: A horse was reported to be on the roadway of Hwy. 66 and Stony Rd. in Stevens Point at 11:32 AM. The horse was returned to its 91-year-old owner.

Crash: A 60-year-old Stevens Point man was charged with failure to yield the right of way after causing a crash on Sims and Illinois Ave. with a 22-year-old female driver at 3:07 PM.

Withdrawal Woes: A 39-year-old Stevens Point woman called police at 4:47 PM to report $345 dollars had been withdrawn from her bank account by an unknown person.

Noisy Neighbors: A 20-year-old Stevens Point man was charged with permitting excessive noise after police were called to his residence on the 2400 block of Fourth Ave. at 10:21 PM.

August 29

Drinkin’ In The Street: A 24-year-old Plover man was charged with carrying an open intoxicant on a public way after police stopped him at 2:07 AM on the 1300 block of Second St. in Stevens Point.

Theft:  A white iPhone 6 and a Minnesota Gophers baseball cap were reported stolen at 2:20 AM by their owner, a 21-year-old Stevens Point man.

Girl Trouble: A 34-year-old Stevens Point man called police at 4:45 PM to report that his ex-girlfriend keeps calling and texting him against his wishes.

Stalking: A 47-year-old Stevens Point man was arrested for disorderly conduct, domestic abuse and stalking at 5:15 PM after he was reported to be following a known 43-year-old female around town.

Child Abuse:  A 20-year-old Stevens Point woman was arrested for child abuse-intentionally causing harm after police responded to a fight between her and a 16-year-old male at 7:37 PM on the 300 block of Reserve St.

Fun With Frogs: A report of a disturbance on the 1400 block of Larrys Dr. in Stevens Point turned out to be a husband who was chasing his wife with a frog at 10:56 PM.

August 30

Fight Night: A 21-year-old Stevens Point man was charged with aggravated battery and disorderly conduct after police were called to a physical altercation between him and a 24-year-old male at 2:44 AM on the 1100 block of Main St.

4-Wheelin’: A 24-year-old Rosholt man was warned for driving his four wheeler on the road of Maple. St. after police received a complaint at 11:46 AM.

Boys Make Noise: A 21-year-old Stevens Point man was charged with permitting excessive noise from his residence on the 1900 block of College Ave. after he was reported by a 63-year-old neighbor at 11:16 PM.
