Wannabe Pimp Charged in Social Media Sex Scam

A 21-year old Plover man pleaded not guilty on Monday to misdemeanor theft charges in Portage County Court.

Christopher Dietz made his initial appearance via video from the Portage County Jail.

Portage County deputies responded to a 911 call from the Town of Hull on April 18, when a woman said a man appeared on her porch demanding to see Dietz because he “wanted his money back”.

According to the criminal complaint, Dietz and an accomplice crafted a fake posting on a social media website offering sex with Dietz’s his non-existent stepsister for $100.

A man who responded to the ad met Dietz and another man in the parking lot of a local restaurant, where he gave Dietz $100. When the man realized there was no woman to have sex with, Dietz and his partner fled the scene.

All three men gave similar stories to the deputy investigating the case. Dietz admitted to spending the money and was arrested on suspicion of theft.

Portage County Court Commissioner David Worzella ordered a $100 cash bond in the case. Dietz is due back in court on September 21.
