Walk MS Set for September 19

City Times Staff
The annual Walk MS fundraiser is set for September 19.
The 3-mile walk, which raises money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, begins at the UW-Stevens Point Multi-Activity Center and runs from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on September 19. The fundraising goal for Stevens Point is 28,000, over half of which has already been raised.
“When you participate in Walk MS, the funds you raise give hope to the more than 11,000 children, women and men in Wisconsin living with multiple sclerosis. The dollars raised support life-changing programs and cutting-edge research. Every connection counts,” said the NMSS website.
It costs nothing to register for the Walk but individual donations and pledges are greatly appreciated. Those who raise $125 or more will receive a commemorative Walk MS t-shirt. Those who raise more than $175 are eligible for other prizes depending on total money raised.
Multiple sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.
