The promotions were granted with the PFC’s blessing and implemented by the department to better align the chain of command.
Interim Police Chief Marty Skibba said the promotions “make it easier for officers to know who is in charge at any given time, even if a shift commander might not be immediately available.”
Skibba said the department only recently reinstated the rank of corporal. The position had previously been eliminated several years ago due to budget cuts. All promotions were made from within the department.
