SPASH Football Loses to Fondy 25-29

SPASH Panthers took their first loss of the season Friday night in a conference match up against the Fond du Lac Cardinals in a close 29-25 game.
SPASH took an early lead in the first quarter scoring 10 unanswered points including a field goal by #5, junior kicker Joey Dorgan and a five yard touchdown by junior quarterback Beau Rosenthal.
The Cardinals came back with two touchdowns in the second quarter; an 11 yard run by junior wide receiver Reggie Hernandez and a four yard run by senior running back Justin Maratik to close out the first half with a score of 14-10.
SPASH added 15 points in the third quarter with another field goal by Dorgan, a seven yard run for a TD by Rosenthal and a one yard run by senior WR Victor Kizewski. Both extra point attempts failed bringing the score to 14-25.
Maratik scored on a 50 yard pass to close out the third quarter with a score of 21-25.
A final TD by senior QB Quinn Woelful and a two point conversion pass to junior tight end Alex Rupppel brought the Cardinals their victory.
The Panther’s record moves to 2-1 while the Cardinals remain undefeated with three straight wins.
The Panthers take on the 1-2 Oshkosh North Spartans next Friday at Goerke Park. Kick off is at 7:00 PM.
