Andrew N. Peterson, age 87, of Stevens Point, WI died August 29, 2015 at Brookdale Senior Living, Stevens Point.

Andrew was born on October 21, 1927 to the late Andrew & Edwina (Uhlman) Peterson in Fon du lac, WI. He attended the local schools graduating from P.J. Jacob’s High School in 1945.

Following high school, Andrew joined the U.S. Army serving as 2nd Lieutenant in World War II and the Korean War. He was honorably discharged.

Andrew married Janet Marie Dupre the Spring of 1951.

Following his Military service, he attended Michigan College of Mining and Technology where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering.

Andrew was a manager of construction and mining engineer projects for Allis Chalmers and various other companies. He retired in 1981.

Andrew enjoyed playing basketball and football at P.J. Jacobs High School and golf in his later years. He was an ardent hunter and fisherman. In retirement, he wrote over 500 weekly articles for the Stevens Point Journal and other journals in regards to hunting and fishing. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his 3 sons, Dr. Thomas (Brenda) of Eleva, Andrew N. Jr. (Sandra) of St. Charles, IL, & Terri (Kathleen) of Brookfield, WI. He is further survived by 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Andrew is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Edwina; wife, Janet; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.

A Committal Service will be held 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Forest Cemetery.
