Main Attraction: Art in the Park Brings Out Thousands

By Jake Mathias
Thousands were in attendance at Pfiffner Pioneer Park on September 19 for the 46th annual Art in the Park.
Art in the Park gathers dozens of artists and craftsman to showcase and sell their works and wares. Everything from homemade candles, quilting and book sculptures to woodwork, stained glass and pottery were on display.
For children, face and hair painting was popular as well as an ever expanding kids town constructed of hand painted cardboard box homes made by the children themselves.
Food including burgers, bratwurst, tacos and pulled pork were provided by the Stevens Point Noon Optimists, Elks Lodge #641, Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Stevens Point Woman’s Club, the Izaak Walton League and the Children’s Arts Program.
Violinists from the local Aber Suzuki Center provided musical entertainment as they walked through the park.
Rides on the ever-popular Milley the Trolley also were offered throughout the day.
