Culver’s Breaks Ground in Plover

By Jacob Mathias
A new location of Culver’s broke ground the morning of September 21 in Plover’s Village Park.
The expected opening date is February 22.
The nearly 4,000 square foot building- located directly east of the new Arby’s store on Plover Rd.- is the third location in the Stevens Point Area, following the most recent store built on Division St. in September 2013. All the area stores are franchised by Russ and Leah Trzebiatowski.
Leah Trzebiatowski said her son Reed, along with his wife Molly and niece Sarah Zdroik, as well as Sarah’s husband Shane Drechsel, will be running the Plover location, keeping the stores under family operation.
The Trzebiatowski’s opened their first Culver’s location on Highway 10 East in Stevens Point in 1993, the 10th store in the company’s history. What followed was a large boom for the company- and the new Plover location marks the 570th Culver’s store.
Construction is being contracted by Green Bay-based Bayland Buildings, Inc.
The store is expected to employ 45 people and hiring is estimated to begin in late December or early January.
The Plover Culver’s will be located at 1805 Plover Rd.
