Plover Fastpitch 12’s Win Fall Tournament

The Plover Fastpitch 12’s won the 2015 Plover Fastpitch Fall Tournament, held Sept. 18-20 at the Woyak Sports Complex.

The girls went 5-0 to claim the tournament’s 12U championship.

In the double elimination bracket, the Plover 12’s beat DC Everest 10-2; Point Fastpitch 10-1; and Hortonville 7-6, with a walk-off single by Olivia Schustek in the bottom of the 6th inning.

In the winner’s bracket semifinal, Plover 12’s beat Kaukauna Fastpitch 8-2.

In the championship game, the Plover 12’s won the tournament with in dramatic fashion, coming from behind for a 5-4 win over the Rapids Rage Black. The girls had been down 4-1 in their last at-bat in the bottom of the 6th, with Jenna Eilers hitting a clutch, walk off game scoring single to center.

Highlights:

  • Team batting average- .434, on-base percentage .500, slugging % .559
  • Team pitching:  1.88 ERA, 23 strikeouts, opponent batting average- .202
