Laura M. Wojtalewicz, 95 of Stevens Point, died Saturday, Sep. 26, 2015, at the Portage County Health Care Center.

She was born on April 14, 1920, in the town of Hull, to the late Felix and Polly “Pauline” (Garski) Firkus. On May 4, 1940, she was married to Alois Wojtalewicz at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Alois died on May 7, 2009.

Laura was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting rugs, baking and canning. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Society and the Catholic Foresters.

Survivors include her sons and daughters, Richard Wojtalewicz of Hazelhurst, Dennis (Bernice) Wojtalewicz of Amherst, Barbara Warzinik of Stevens Point, Mary (James) Lang of Plover, and Bonnie (Michael) Krutza of Plover; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Isabel Dulak of Milwaukee; and brothers, Leonard (Arlene) Firkus and Albert Firkus both of Stevens Point.

In addition to her parents and husband, Laura was preceded in death by her daughters, Adeline and Joann; son, Kenneth Joseph; granddaughter, Ashley Krutza-Kressin; great-granddaughter, Emma Wojtalewicz; and nine siblings.

The family thanks the staff at both the Portage County Health Care Center and Heartland Hospice for their care of Laura.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, Sep. 30, 2015, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, 838 Fremont Street in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Thomas Lindner officiating. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday morning from 10 AM until the time for Mass.
