Noah Cornwell, 22, pleaded no contest in July to aggravated battery for a Jan. 4 incident and false imprisonment for a Feb. 9 incident.

According to a criminal complaint, in January Cornwell knocked a man unconscious during an argument over his brother’s girlfriend at Brickhause Tavern. The victim lost two teeth, sustained damaged to other teeth and suffered a fractured nose and a concussion.

Police weren’t able to located Cornwell immediately, but did identify him using the bar’s video surveillance.

On Feb. 9 police were called to his home in Stevens Point after a report of domestic violence. According to a criminal complaint in that case, Cornwell attacked a woman there and eventually slapped and punched her 15 to 20 times.

The victim also said Cornwill bit her several times during the assault, and officers found bite marks on her upper thigh, according to the complaint.

A 2-month-old child was in the house during the attack, according to the complaint.

Cornwell was sentenced Tuesday to 20 months behind bars, followed by 25 months of extended supervision and five years of probation.

Cornwell was given 239 days of credit for time he’s already served in jail, and apologized in court.

“That’s who I was,” Cornwell said. “But that’s not who I am anymore. I need to change.”
