Honor Flight’s 21st Mission on the Books

The 21st Never Forgotten Honor Flight, which included several Portage County veterans, is now on the books.
The flight named “Mission 21” carried 83 area veterans to Washington, D.C. for a day to visit memorials built in their honor.
The flight included 14 WWII veterans, 67 Korean War veterans and 2 Vietnam War, with several from Stevens Point and Plover areas. The group visited Arlington National Cemetery, the Iwo Jima memorial, the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider, the Marine and Air Force memorials, the WWII memorial and several other sites.
The flight returned to the Central Wisconsin Airport around 10 PM Monday.
