Mary J. Gavin, age 70 of Bancroft, passed away September 30, 2015 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mary will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday October 6, 2015 at the Plover – Shuda Funeral Home in Plover. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 3:00 PM until the time of service Tuesday at the Plover Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Plover Cemetery.

Mary was born February 12, 1945 in Stevens Point, the daughter of Frank and Hattie (Kickland) Sterling. She graduated from P.J.Jacobs High School in 1963. Mary married Mike Giese Sr on August 24, 1964 in Stevens Point. She worked at Oreida and later McCains for 21 years until she retired in 2004. Mary married Timothy Gavin May 2, 1991, in Reno, NV. Mary enjoyed flowers, bird watching, and going to the casino.

She is survived by her husband Timothy, Bancroft, her 3 children: Mike Jr (Kelly) Giese, Plover; Michelle (Kevin) Jones, Kenosha; Wendy (Kevin) Marks, Wisconsin Rapids. 7 grandchildren: Carisa, Travis, Michael III, Billy, Jacqueline, Dylan, and Kade. 6 great grandchildren: Natalia, Riley, Morgan, Stryker, Chasin, and Jaylynn. Her sister Betty Stump, Plover. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Mike in 1987, their son Wayne, 6 brothers, and 1 sister.
