A 22-year-old Stevens Point man faces some serious jail time following accusations he maintained a drug trafficking place and was found with nearly a pound of marijuana and several tabs of un-prescribed Adderall.

According to the criminal complaint, Daniel Castro was arrested on July 30 after police executed a search in his Fourth Ave. apartment, where Castro was living with two roommates. Among numerous glass smoking pipes, officers found more than $1300 in cash, weighing equipment with marijuana residue and almost 300 grams of marijuana stored inside six vacuum bags, according to the complaint.

Castro waived his rights and agreed to answer questions during the search. He told police the marijuana and paraphernalia belonged to him, and had been selling marijuana to support himself because he did not currently have a job.

Castro pleaded no contest to similar drug charged in Dane County in 2013 and was charged with underage drinking in Stevens Point in 2012.

If convicted he faces more than 16 years in prison and $35,000 in fines. He is currently free on a $5,000 signature bond.
