Plover Fastpitch 12’s Win 2015 Kaukauna Fastpitch Softball Tournament

The Plover Fastpitch 12’s won the 2015 Kaukauna Fastpitch Softball Tournament at Horseshoe Park in Kaukauna Oct. 3-4.

The girls were 5-0 to claim the tournament’s 12U championship.

In pool play, the Plover Fastpitch 12’s beat Merrill 12-0, and then beat the Appleton Rockers 11-6.

As the #4 seed in their quarter final bracket play game, Plover Fastpitch 12’s were down 5-1, and had a come back win 7-6 vs. the Appleton Rockers, with Haley Raflik hitting a walk off game winning single.

In the Semi-Final game, the Plover 12’s had another come from behind victory vs. Poynette 4-2, with key hits coming from Jaden Jones with a two out, RBI double in the last inning to tie the game 2-2, sending it into extra innings, and then Jenna Eilers with the big game winning RBI single in the top of the 7th.

In the Championship Game, the Plover 12’s won the 2015 Kaukauna Fastpitch Softball Tournament 12U Championship with a dramatic, well played, defensive battle with Kaukauna, winning 4-3 in extra innings, with the clutch game winning, 2 RBI double by Maddie Kvatek in the top of the 8th inning.

  • Team batting avg .413, on-base percentage .493, slugging percentage .556
  • Team pitching:  2.33 ERA, 33 strikeouts, opponent batting avg .170
  • Olivia Schustek lead the Plover 12’s hitting with a .643 batting ave. and an inside the park home run

Plover Fastpitch 12’s Nationals finished the 2015 season with an overall record of 54-5, winning 7 tournament championships, and a runner-up finish at the 2015 ASA Northern Nationals.
