Marvin R. Pozorski

Marvin R. Pozorski, age 85, of Whiting, Wis. passed away at his home Friday morning October 9, 2015, while under the care of his loving family and Ministry Hospice.

Marv courageously battled cancer for a number of years.

A memorial service will be held at Shuda Funeral Home, Stevens Point at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 15, 2015. Family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 9:30 am Thursday until the time of service. Marv will be laid to rest at the McDill Cemetery .

Marv was born on August 19, 1930 in Milwaukee , Wis. , the son of the late John and Josephine (Kieliszewski) Pozorski. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School , Stevens Point in 1948.

His marriage to Edith V. Parks took place on October 20, 1951 at St. Peters Catholic Church. Their 64 year marriage was blessed with two children, Rick and Rob.

Marv entered the U.S. Army in November 1951. Sgt Marvin Pozorski served in the 40th Infantry 223rd Regiment, fighting on the front lines during the Korean War from 1951-1953. He received three Battle Stars and was honorably discharged October 1953.

He was a truck driver for over 42 years for the Copps Corporation, retiring in 1995. Over the years Marv and Edie took many trips with their family and friends throughout the United States .

After retirement Marv enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee, peaceful afternoons fishing on McDill Pond, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. He was a member of St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover.

Marv will be deeply missed by his wife, Edith Pozorski of Whiting; two sons Richard (Deanna Gertsch-Pozorski) Pozorski of Stevens Point and Robert Pozorski of LaCrosse, Wis.; his three grandchildren Heather (Nathan) Pezewski of Stevens Point, Holly (Craig) Busse of Stevens Point and Heath Pozorski (Abby DeShaney) of Appleton, Wis., seven great grandchildren; Casey Jahn, Abigail and Avery Pezewski; Grace and Emma Busse; Ava and Shayn Pozorski. He is further survived by one sister, Marilyn “Bootsie” Hintz; Sister in laws, Judy Pozorski and Delores Pozorski; brother in law, Donald Lee Stevens Point; brother in law Elmer Feltz Waupaca; brother in law and sister in law, Randall and Lanell Parks Daphne, Ala. In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by sister Arlene Lee; two brothers Kenneth Pozorski and Raymond Pozorski; brother-in-law Leonard Hintz.

The Pozorski family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ministry Hospice who helped make our loving husband, father and grandfather’s final days and hours as comfortable as possible. Your care and compassion will forever be appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Marv in a special way may direct memorials to Ministry-Hospice or Never Forgotten Honor Flight Assoc.
