A Stevens Point man who told deputies he was driving back from a methadone clinic was arrested on Saturday for his third OWI.
Casey Edlebeck, 30, was taken into custody on Oct. 10 after deputies received a complaint about an erratic driver on I-39. Deputies located Edlebeck based on the vehicle description near the Division St. exit.
According to the criminal complaint, Edlebeck appeared to be intoxicated as he told deputies he was returning from a methadone clinic in Wausau. After determining Edlebeck was wanted on an active warrant, deputies searched his vehicle and turned up drug paraphernalia, including syringes loaded with a liquid form of Adderall.
Edlebeck appeared via video in Portage County Circuit Court on Monday, when Judge Robert Shannon ordered a $1,000 cash bond to cover both cases and quashed the outstanding warrant.
Edlebeck’s next court appearance is scheduled for October 19.
