Bernice C. Gruba, age 87 of Stevens Point, died October 13, 2015, at North Haven Assisted Living in Stevens Point.

Bernice was born November 15, 1927 to the late Joseph & Rosey (Cyran) Greene in Plover, WI. She grew up in Stevens Point and attended the local schools.

Bernice married Lawrence Raasch in 1951. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1987. On June 3, 1990 Bernice married Joseph Gruba in Stevens Point. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2014.

In her earlier years, Bernice was employed at Woolworth’s in Janesville, WI. She later became the owner and operator of the Buckle Doo Tavern in Stevens Point.

Bernice was both a nature and animal lover, especially endeared to dogs and birds. She also cultivated a beautiful rose garden for many years. Bernice enjoyed traveling, playing card games and the occasional trips to the casino. She was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church and a past member of the Moose Lodge.

Bernice is survived by daughter-in-law, Betsy Raasch; sister, Lucille (Richard) Kellerman; step-children, Thomas, Joye (James) Hamilton, & James (Joan Jinsky), all of Stevens Point; grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Lisa, Laurie, Lacey; several great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Delores Greene

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Lawrence Raasch and Joseph Gruba; son, Richard Raasch; brother, Raymond Greene; sisters, Irene, Alvira, and Agnes; and step-son, William Gruba.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at St. Stephens Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.bostonfuneralhome.net.

The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Hospice and North Haven Assisted Living for their care given to Bernice.
