James J. Boyer
James J. Boyer, 76, Stevens Point, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, Nov. 2, at the Shuda Funeral Chapel – Stevens Point, with Dwaine Habrat officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point.
Visitation will be at the funeral chapel from 10 a.m. Monday until the services.

Mr. Boyer was born Aug. 11, 1939, in Stevens Point, a son of
the late Edward and Dorothy (Strike) Boyer. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High
School in 1957.
He entered the U.S. Navy in August 1958, and served until
his honorable discharge in August 1960.
He returned to the area and began working at Parkinson’s Men’s
Store.
He was married to Barbara Brekke Oct. 14, 1961, at St.
Stephen Catholic Church. She died in 1996.
The couple settled in Stevens Point where he worked for
Borden’s Milk, later at Point Brewery, and finished his working career at
Joerns, retiring in 2001.
Survivors include three children, Kristin, Mark and Jeffery;
one sister, Kathy “Cooky” Retzki; one brother, Paul Boyer; and five
grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert.
