Robert John Steinke, 93, town of Plover, a former chairman
of the Portage County Board of Supervisors and longtime town of Plover chair, died
Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015.


Funeral services will be held at 12:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2,
at Divine Word Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2501 Plover Springs Drive, Plover.
Burial will be in Plover Cemetery in Plover.


Visitation will be at the church from 10:15 a.m. Monday
until the services.


Boston Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Condolences may be offered online at www.bostonfuneralhome.net.


Mr. Steinke served as County Board chairman from 1980 to 1988
and retired from the County Board in 2006 after 34 years of service. During his
tenure he was one of the major influences in helping establish the county Highway
Department facility in Plover. He also served on many county committees.


He also served as the town of Plover board chairman for 34
years and worked with former Village of Plover President Dan Schlutter,
Adminstrator Dan Mahoney and the Plover Village Board in creating a boundary
and revenue-sharing agreement with the village.
