Canadian National (CN) presented a $19,020 corporate gift to United Way of Portage County Wednesday, Oct. 21, in support of the 2015 United Way Campaign.

“We’re all about people being safe and healthy, and there’s no better organization that focuses on having a safe and healthy environment than United Way,” said Kevin Soucie, director of government affairs for CN. “United Way has an impact on the entire continuum of care, whether it’s youth, learning, education and reading or all the way to helping people and families in stress by getting them housing or stabilizing their lives so they can have productive and happy lives.”

“This gift, and all others United Way receives, will go a long way in helping to make our community a better place,” said Sue Wilcox, United Way executive director.

The United Way of Portage County 2015 Campaign is currently taking place throughout Portage County at approximately 200 worksites, via direct mail and through other individual and organizational giving.

Donors of $52 or more to the 2015 United Way campaign will receive a GIVE & GET UNITED Coupon Book and eligible donors of $52 or more will also be automatically entered into the TRAVEL UNITED Sweepstakes for a chance to win a 2016 vehicle donated by Scaffidi Motors or a number of other great prizes.

For more information about United Way, call 715-341-6740, email [email protected] or visit www.unitedwaypoco.org.
