Gerald J. Mallek, 74, Plover, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2015.


Private family services were held at King Veterans Cemetery
in King.

Pisarski Community Funeral Home and Cremation Center of
Plover assisted with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.


Mr. Mallek was born April 27, 1941, in Junction City, a son
of the late Walter B. and Gertrude G. Mallek. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs
High School in 1959.


He entered the U.S. Marine Corps July 8, 1959, and was
honorably discharged July 7, 1963, with a rank of corporal (E-4). He was
awarded the Good Conduct Medal in 1962.


He worked for Soo Line and Canadian Pacific Railroads from Aug.
20, 1963 to Nov. 20, 1996.


He was married to Karen A Firkus July 8, 1967, at St. Peter
Catholic Church, Stevens Point.


Survivors include his wife, Karen, Plover; three
children, Brenda, Plover, Keith (Robin), Hudson, and Kelly (William) Anderson,
Hammond; two brothers, Dave (Barb), Sedona, Ariz., and Allan (Nancy), Stevens
Point; one sister, Kathy (John) Feltz, Junction City; one sister-in-law, Mary
Mallek, Junction City; and four grandsons.


He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford and
Conrad.
