Robert F. Manti, 88, Plover, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, in
Stevens Point.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Saturday, Nov. 7, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Holy Spirit Parish in
Stevens Point. Burial with full military honors will be in the Plover Cemetery.


Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until
the Mass.


Pius XI High School in Milwaukee will host a memorial Sunday,
Nov. 8. For details, see the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel online obituary.


The family requests donations on his behalf to the Pius High
School Future Fund.


Pisarski Funeral Homes of Stevens Point and Plover assisted
with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.


Mr. Manti was born Jan. 19, 1927, a son of the late Peter and
Viola (Hoffman) Manti.


He served in the U.S. Army. He received the World War II
Victory Medal and was honorably discharged on Oct. 4, 1946, at Fort Sheridan,
Ill.


He was married to Eleanor Sweykata. She preceded him in
death.


He received a teaching degree from the State Teacher’s
College and also received a master’s degree in teaching. He taught at Pius XI
High School for half a century, from 1955 to 2005. He primarily taught American
history. He also coached football, boxing and taught courses in geography and
art history.


Prior to 2007, he lived all his life in Milwaukee.


Survivors include two sons, Peter and Phillip Manti; four
daughters, Honore Dowell, Jennifer Valenti, Mary Murphy and Francesca Manti;
seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
