Arnold Henry “Arnie” Thoreson, 69, Plover, died Tuesday,
Nov. 2, 2015, at his home after a battle with cancer.


A celebration of life will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Marshfield Elks Lodge in Marshfield, with a
remembrance service at 6 p.m.


The family requests any funds be directed to Ministry
Hospice Services; Attn: Susan Barrett; 2501 Main St.; Stevens Point, WI 54481.


Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at
www.hansenschillingfuneralhome.com.


Mr. Thorson was born Aug. 6, 1946, in Stanley, a son of the
late Henry and Evelyn Thoreson. He grew up in Whitehall and graduated from
Whitehall High School.


He received a bachelor’s degree from the Wisconsin State
University-Eau Claire. After graduation he held various positions in teaching,
sales and marketing before retiring in 2009.


He was married to Vickie (Reichel) Schroeder Dec. 31, 1984,
at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield.


He was an active member of the Elks Club, served on various
committees and received the Elk of the Year award.


During the years, he participated in various bowling
leagues, was a frequent golfer and deer hunted at “The Shack” with his friends
and family.


Survivors include his wife, Vickie; four children, Kelly
(Dave) Berlick and Aric (Liz) Thoreson, both of Appleton, Lindsay (Tom) Radle,
Greenville, and Heidi (Aaron) Post, Chili; one sister, Wanda (Burt) Nelson,
Florida; one brother, Ken (Jolyne) Thoreson, Tennessee; and 10 grandchildren.


He was also preceded in death by one sister, Alice
Hammerstrom.
