Dorothy M. Smith-Richter, 88, Waupaca, sister of a Stevens
Point resident, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at Theda Care Medical
Center-Waupaca.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7,
at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, with the Rev. Andy Behrendt officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in Hitterdahl Lutheran Cemetery in the town of
Iola in Waupaca County.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Saturday
until the services.

Mrs. Smith-Richter was born May 27, 1927, in Iola, a daughter
of the late Alfred and Lorraine (Erickson) Olson.

She was married to Frank Smith Aug. 2, 1947, in Iola. He died
Sept. 8, 1985.

She was married to Melvin Richter Jan. 8, 2000, at St. John
Lutheran Church in Saxeville.

She worked for more than 25 years at
Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin Richter, Waupaca; three
sons, Steven (Valerie) Smith, Appleton, Paul (Debi) Smith, Wild Rose, and Marte
(Jeanne) Smith, Rhinelander; five siblings, Donald (special friend Annie)
Olson, Portage, Sharon (Richard) Miller, Crystal River, Fla., Robert (special friend
Leslie) Olson, Waupaca, Alden Olson, Stevens Point, and Mark (Michelle) Olson,
Franklin; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter and an
infant granddaughter.
