The ceremony schedules will be as follows:

Stevens Point

The Polish Legion of American Veterans will host this year’s Portage County Allied Veterans’ Veterans Day Celebration at 10:30 a.m. at Mid-State Technical College (MSTC), 1001 CenterPoint Drive, Stevens Point. The event is sponsored by the MSTC Veterans Club.

The program will honor all military veterans. The Polish Legion of American Veterans John Paul II Post 185 along with other local veteran service organizations will provide an honor guard.

The master of ceremonies will be John Pionkowski. The keynote speaker will be Capt. Francis I. D’Allura, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point ROTC.

The event will conclude at approximately 11 a.m. with a rifle squad honors presentation.

Plover

The Plover Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10262 and Plover American Legion Post 543 will conduct joint ceremonies in observance of Veterans Day Wednesday to honor all servicemen and servicewomen who have fought for or are fighting for their county.

Ceremonies at the Korean War Memorial will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the VFW and Legion Color Guards march to the Isle of Man.

The ceremony will also include a Veterans Day message by Plover Village Administrator Dan Mahoney, VFW Honors salute and taps.

Ceremonies at the Plover Veterans Memorial will begin at 11 a.m. with the VFW and Legion Color Guard march to the Veterans Memorial and a Veterans Day message by Judge Mike McKenna.

Veterans Day marks the anniversary of the Armistice that ended World War I, which formally took place at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918.
