Carl Fredrick Maves, 91, Amherst, a former member of the
Lanark Town Board, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at Bethany Homes in Waupaca.


A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14,
at Peace Lutheran Church in Amherst, with the Rev. Dwight Anderson officiating.
Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in the town of Amherst.


Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday until
the service.


The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.hollyfuneralhome.com.


Mr. Maves was born Oct. 30, 1924, in the town of Lanark, a
son of the late Otto and Wilhelmina (Lutz) Maves.


He was married to Elaine Swenson May 27, 1950. They were
married for 58 years when she died Nov. 19, 2008.


He lived on the family farm in the town of Lanark for 65
years.


In his early years, he worked as an electrician and at the
Amherst Junction Feed Mill, as well as farming.


He served on the Peace Lutheran Church Council, the Lanark Town
Board as a supervisor and as a Fire Warden for many years.


Survivors include four sons, Fred (fiancée Tina Smith), Tom
(Denise), Dan (friend Barb) and Jon (Leah), all of Amherst; eight grandchildren,
Tara (Jeremy) Strand, Mayville, N.D., and Adam (Jenny), Ramanda, Ellen, Jeremy,
Steve, Karlee and Makena Maves, all of Amherst; and four great-granddaughters;
one honorary grandson, Brent Parker, Waupaca, and special family friends, Nancy
and Jim Jensen, Hazlehurst.


He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and Otto
Maves; and one sister, Irene Alm.
