Ray Zynda

Ray Zynda, 80, formerly of Stevens Point, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, in Columbus, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point.
Visitation will be at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, with a parish rosary prayed at 6:30 p.m., and at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the Mass.

Mr. Zynda was born July 17, 1935, in Stevens Point, the
oldest son of the late Stanley and Susan (Guzman) Zynda Sr. He attended St.
Peter Grade School and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School.
He was married to Bernice Flisakowski Oct. 6, 1956, at St.
Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. She died in 1993.
He was married to Marianne A.
Vollrath Feb. 15, 1997, at St. Stephen Catholic Church. She died in 2010.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1956 and served by executive
order during the Berlin Crisis. He was honorably discharged from Camp McCoy
Aug. 1, 1962.
After high school, he worked at the Vetter Manufacturing
Company and worked his way up to supervisor. Five years later, he bought a milk
route. His business began as a “can” route but quickly grew into a “bulk”
route. He was the first milk hauler in the area that had a Mack truck and
Brenner bulk tank. Nine trucks and 25 years later (working seven days per week),
he decided to retire in 1985 at the age of 49.
Survivors include one son, Rob
(Sherri), Reynoldsburg, Ohio; one brother, Daniel (Mary Jane) Zynda, Stevens
Point; and two grandchildren, Brianna and Ryan Zynda, Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret
Kaminski and Delores Gorecki; and one brother, Stanley Jr.
