Letter: ‘Bring it to the Ballot’ to Prep Voters for Election
To the Editor-
As many of you know, the long-debated Voter ID law is now in effect in Wisconsin. As we go into the 2016 election year, let’s make sure that we are informed and prepared when we go to the polls.
The League of Women Voters organizations in Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids are co-sponsoring a public forum called “Bring It to the Ballot” on November 18 to help us prepare for the 2016 elections. Elections Specialist Meagan Wolfe of the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board will be in Stevens Point to discuss the Voter Registration process and forms of Photo ID.
This forum will be held in the conference room of the Portage County Annex, 1462 Strongs Avenue, from 6:00 – 7:00 pm.
When we vote to select those who will represent us in local, state and national government, we exercise a right and a privilege. “One person, one vote” is the hallmark of our democracy, and we are a stronger nation when more of us stand up to be counted.
The League of Women Voters invites each of you to attend this important forum and to help spread the word.
