NEW: NWS Issues Wind Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory effective until 6:00 PM.
According to the NWS, a strong low pressure system will bring gusty westerly winds as it exits the region late this morning into the afternoon. Winds will blow across Central Wisconsin and slowly decrease late this afternoon and early evening.
Winds of 25 to 30 miles per hour and gusts of up to 45 mph will make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles travelling north or south. Minor tree damage is possible and lightweight objects may get blown around. Structural damage to construction projects is also possible.
Affected counties include Portage, Wood and Waupaca including the cities of Stevens Point, Plover, Wisconsin Rapids, Marshfield, New London, Waupaca, Clintonville and Weyauwega.
Use extra caution while driving.
