Betty J. Engebretson, age 81 of Stevens Point, passed away Tuesday morning November 10, 2015 at the Portage County Health Care Center.

Funeral services for Betty will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday November 13, 2015 at the Plover- Shuda Funeral Home in Plover. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the Plover Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery.

Betty was born August 19, 1934 in Portage County, the daughter of George and Nona (Kramer) Getzloff. She was married to Ben Sawyer for many years and they had 6 children together until his passing and then got married to Bernard Engebretson years later.

She enjoyed camping, spending winters in Arizona, but most of all loved spending time with family.

Betty is survived by her husband Bernard Engebretson, Stevens Point. 5 children: Deb (John) Ammel, Almond; Ben (Sheri), Sawyer, Bancroft; Terry (Sheila) Sawyer, Bancroft; Scott (Kathy) Sawyer, Bancroft; Dawn (James) Robinson, Rome. 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. 3 brothers: Eldred (Buelah) Getzloff, Gary Getzloff, and Lowell (Debbie) Getzloff. one sister Karen (Charles) Ulrich. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Ben, son Tom, brother Jack, 2 great granddaughters: Kaitlin and Meghan Miller; 2 sister-in-laws: Shirley and Carol Getzloff; 3 brothers-in-law: Glen and Leonard Sawyer and Lester Engebretson; her Godson Rodney Getzloff.

Betty’s family wishes to thank Aspirus Hospice and the staff at the Portage County Home. A special thank you to Irene for the 9 years of care to Mom.
