A line formed outside the doors of O’so Brewing Company on Saturday, as people waited to enter the tap house and brewery to celebrate its eighth anniversary.

Founder and CEO of O’so Brewing Company Marc Buttera described what it felt like to be celebrating eight years of business.

“It feels awesome,” Buttera said. “We are in a super competitive industry filled with corporate giants, and we continue to thrive. It’s a testament to everyone’s hard work and dedication.”

For a third year, O’so’s anniversary celebration also served as a Toys for Tots fundraiser. Attendees donated $15 or a toy of equal value upon entering.

With 40 beers on tap, there was quite a selection for patrons to choose from at the event. This year’s anniversary celebration also featured unique sour beers available for purchase.

“It’s a chance to mingle around with other charitable people with similar interests,” Buttera said. “I am sure there are friendships that have formed from this party. We also are releasing rare beers, which adds another reason to get out and support a great cause.”

“This is our third year with Toys for Tots, and it has grown bigger every year,” Buttera said. “Last year with toys and cash our fans raised $13,000.”

Buttera said money raised at this year’s event will be taken to the Rotary Club of Portage County to obtain a tax-free debit card that will be used to purchase additional toys for donation.

“Our goal is $15,000 in toys and money,” Buttera said. “We want to use our business as a catalyst to do great things, and it feels great when you see it all come together.”

After about a month of planning, O’so’s anniversary celebration was a well-attended and organized event. Toys gradually piled up to be donated, as patrons entered the tap house.

“Some kids will be pretty happy on Christmas Day,” Buttera said.

O’so is located at 3028 Village Park Dr. in Plover. For more information on O’so Brewing Company, visit www.osobrewing.com.
