David W. Poetzel, 81, Plainfield, died unexpectedly Tuesday,
Nov. 17, 2015, at his home.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Friday, Nov.
20, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Plainfield. Burial will be in the parish
cemetery.


Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until
the Mass.


The Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home in
Plainfield assisted with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.plainfieldfuneralhome.com.


Mr. Poetzel was born Dec. 6, 1933, in Milwaukee, the son of the
late George and Anita (Ullrich) Poetzel.


He was married to Sandra (Hein) Bergene Sept. 15, 2001, at Plainfield.


He was a master plumber for 61 years.


He was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church of
Plainfield, the Tri-County Thresherman’s Association and the Knights of
Columbus.


He was an avid Harley-Davidson rider.


Survivors include his wife, Sandie Poetzel; one daughter,
Anne (Sean) Denure; one stepdaughter, Tammy Bergene; his siblings, Mary Ann
Fritsch, Cecile (Fred) Bonte, Tom Poetzel, Michael Poetzel and Mary Beth (Gary)
Geipel; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.


He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer
Poetzel; and one stepson, Scott Bergene.
