City Times Staff

Vote in the poll below to help determine which book the City Times Book Club will read and discuss for the month of December. The book will be selected based on popular vote.

This month’s book selections are all food-centric:

The poll will close on November  22 and books will be available at the Portage County Public Library beginning in November.

In a unique partnership with the Portage Co. Library and our readers, the CTBC launched in August. Readers will help chose one book each month, and a discussion group via Facebook and Twitter will bring the readers together to share their thoughts and experiences with the CTBC.

A well-read community is important, and in that vein, we’ll be reading from multiple genres and time periods. Some books will interest you, some may not. Some may challenge you, and some may even seem strange but we’ll try to bring you all in.

Current Book Club Timeline:

Middle of every month: A poll will be posted on our various pages to determine which book to read (suggestions are always welcome as well, please contact us.)

1st of every month: A reading schedule will be posted on how far along you should read each week in order to contribute fully to all discussion points.

Every Saturday: Thoughts and discussion questions regarding the currently read pages will be posted on our @CTBookClub Twitter page.

Copies of our chosen books will be made available to check out at the Portage County Public Library. Feel free to order online and use e-books and audio books as well.

Each month’s selection poll will contain books from multiple genres including classics, contemporary literature, sci-fi, mystery and non-fiction. This should keep our discussions and interests fresh and evolving.

Simply follow @CTBookClub on Twitter or like City Times Book Club on Facebook to read our thoughts, our questions and participate in discussion on the current book we are reading. We welcome any and all book recommendations as well and would love to hear from you.

For any questions or book recommendations e-mail [email protected].
