Photo of the Day: Now That’s a lot of Bikes

A semi-truck from JMB Logistics in Plover backs up at a Shifting Gears loading dock on Wood Street, a local nonprofit organization which repairs bicycles for resale.
The truck contained more than 120 abandoned bikes, which were collected by local police departments and donated to the organization.
Several teens from the Portage Co. Boys and Girls Club were on hand to unload and store the bikes, which later would be repaired and cleaned up by volunteers.
Shifting Gears utilizes an all-volunteer workforce, in partnership with JusticeWorks, a nonprofit program which rebuilds relationships between nonviolent offenders and the community.
