Stevens Point Man Charged With 8th OWI

A Stevens Point man is facing charges of his eighth OWI after being arrested early Monday morning on Highway 10.
According to the criminal complaint, multiple callers reported to Portage Co. dispatchers that Lou Saephanh, 44, had been driving erratically near Amherst. Deputies located his vehicle and took Saephanh into custody at about 12:40 AM.
Saephanh admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving, according to the complaint, and his blood alcohol registered at 0.198 percent blood alcohol content.
Saephanh is being held on a $10,000 cash bond. He returns to court for his initial appearance on Nov. 30.
