Jacqueline A. “Archie” Schmatz, 87, Amherst Junction (town of New Hope), died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at Modell Funeral Home in Darian, Ill. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Chicago, Ill.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Memorials may be made to Ray Graham Association for the
Handicapped, Lisle, Ill.

Condolences may be offered online at www.modelldarien.com.

Mrs. Schmatz was born Oct. 14, 1928, in Prescott, Ariz., a
daughter of the late Jack and Elsie (Vannoy) Snyder.

She was married to Robert F. Schmatz Aug. 7, 1948, in
Gunnison, Colo. He preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley (Scott) Hibner,
Roberta Schmatz and Marlene (Daniel) Pohl, Amherst Junction; one half-brother,
George Epplinger, Tucson, Ariz.; one stepbrother, John Snyder, Bakersfield,
Calif.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Fred LeRoy
Schmatz and Robert Kenneth Schmatz.
