Stella Irene Pommering, 90

Stella Irene Pommering, 90, died Tuesday November 24, 2015 at Point Manor in Stevens Point.
Stella was born May 8, 1925 to Win & Sylvia (Payne) Gerard. She attended grade and high school in Coloma, Wis., graduating on May 8, 1942, her 17th birthday.
After graduation she worked in Beloit and Madison, returning to her parents’ home in 1945. She worked at Brakebush Brothers, in Westfield, Wisconsin until her marriage.
Stella was united in marriage to Arnold Pommering on May 10, 1947, at Immanuel Lutheran Church Parsonage, Springfield, Wis. They had two children, Diane (Brian) Fitzpatrick, Lakewood and Dennis (Julie) Pommering of Germantown.
Stella has three grandsons and one step-granddaughter. They are Chad (Jessica) Pommering, New Berlin, Jason Pommering, Milwaukee, Shawn Fitzpatrick, Hugo Minn., and Crystal Bell, Germantown.
She also has three great-grandchildren, Cole Edward, Vienna Marie and Stella Ann Pommering, New Berlin. Stella was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Pommering in 2003, her parents, Win & Sylvia Gerard, her brother, Carl Gerard, and her in-laws Otto & Marie Pommering.
Stella is survived by her sister Lelah Kapp of Reedsburg, many nieces, nephews and friends. She will also be remembered by Cheri Pommering, Chad’s and Jason’s mother, and friends she made while residing first at Oakridge Retirement Community and then at Point Manor Assisted Living.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude and thanks to the staff at both Point Manor and Ministry Home Care – Hospice, for the compassion and care Stella received until her passing.
Stella was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Plover and will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Monday November 30, 2015 at Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 2000 Roosevelt Drive in Plover. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the time of services Monday morning at the Church. Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Coloma, Wis.
