Pacelli Boys Basketball Jumps Past Stratford

By Jacob Mathias
After a seven point deficit at halftime, the Pacelli Cardinals varsity boys basketball team rallied past the Stratford Tigers for a 54-45 win.
In their first game of the 2015-16 season, the Cardinals were down 20-27 at halftime but scored 34 points to the Tigers’ 18 in the second half to bring in the win. The opening game win comes after a middling 11-12 record for the 2014-15 season.
“It was a great team win. Jake Elliot played well getting his teammates involved and also by attacking the rim. Trevor Glodowski hit some big shots down the stretch and we finished the game well as a team,” said Pacelli Coach Matt Resch.
Senior guard Elliot led the Cardinals with 16 points followed by Glodowski with 14 points. Senior forward Chris Shibilski followed with 10 points.
Leading the Tigers was senior forward Derrick Schmidt with 17 points and sophomore guard Brendan Fecker with 15.
Pacelli takes on the Assumption High School Royals on December 3 at 7:30 PM and the Bonduel Bears at 7:00 PM. Both games will be played at home.
