Walk-Up Window Hours at Sheriff’s Office Return to Normal

The walk-up records window at the Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office will return to normal business hours earlier than previously thought.
According to a news release from Chief Deputy Dan Kontos, the walk-up window will be open 8 AM- 4 PM during the week beginning on Monday, Dec. 14.
The office was “pleased” for the change, according to the release.
Kontos said on Wednesday a recently- hired employee of the records department was learning at a faster pace than previously thought. He also said the office is rehiring a former employee after the New Year.
The records window provides copies of car accidents, incident reports, restraining orders and other public records. The office is located inside the Law Enforcement Center, 1500 Strongs Ave.
