Evelyn ‘Evie’ Kitowski

Evelyn “Evie” Kitowski, 82, Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living Community in Plover after a long battle with lung cancer.

Funeral services are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled at the funeral chapel from 4 p.m. Thursday until the services. The Women of the Moose Club will hold a ritual at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.

Mrs. Kitowski was born Oct. 22, 1933, in Stevens Point, a
daughter of the late Joseph and Valerie (Listiecki) Levenduski. She attended
school in Milwaukee and later in Stevens Point. She graduated from P.J. Jacobs
High School in 1951.

She was married to David Kitowski in Milwaukee in 1952. The
couple later divorced.

She worked for the Civil Service at Camp Atterberry, Ind., and
Fort Sheridan, Ill. She later worked at Schofield Barracks in Oahu, Hawaii, for
three years.

After returning to Stevens Point, she worked for Joerns
Medical, formerly Joerns Furniture, for 39 years, retiring in 1998.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Stevens Point and St.
Peter’s Rosary Society.

She did volunteer work at the Moose
Lodge and for 15 years as a volunteer worker at the Lincoln Center in Stevens
Point.

She spent time at her cottage on Lake Namakagon in Cable.

Survivors include two sons, David (Patricia) Kitowski Jr.
and Michael Kitowski, both of Stevens Point; two granddaughters, Heather
Kitowski and Holly Kitowski; one stepgrandson, Thomas Kitowski; and two great-grandchildren,
Austin and Alyssa.

She was also preceded in death by one infant grandson, Jesse
Kitowski.
