Catherine Anna “Katy” Reiss Konig, 96, Stevens Point, died
Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at Brookdale Senior Living in Stevens Point.


Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec.
12, at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield, with the Rev. Samuel Martin
officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Auburndale where
committal services will be held by Rev. Jesse Burish, and military rites will
be conducted by American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield.


Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Saturday
until the services.

Mrs. Konig was born Oct. 27, 1919, in Marshfield, a daughter
of the late Frank and Rosa (Albrecht) Specht. She attended St. John Parochial
School and was a 1937 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School.


Immediately upon graduation, she accepted a nanny position
in Madison.


She was married to Robert Reiss in June 1942. He died in
1977.


She enlisted in the WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer
Emergency Service), the women’s branch of the U.S. Navy, in 1943, serving on
the East Coast. She was honorably discharged in 1946.


After the war she and her husband Bob settled in Milwaukee.


After his death, she was married to Robert Konig in October
1981. He died Aug. 16, 2013.


They lived in Milwaukee and later relocated to Mountain. They
moved to Brookdale Assisted Living in 2008.


She was involved in Girl Scouts when her daughter Maria was
young.


Survivors include one daughter, Maria (Vince) Giannattasio, Milwaukee;
one granddaughter, Sarah Aumann, Milwaukee; one stepson, Robert Konig, Green
Bay; one sister, Mary (Heinz) Beyer, Milwaukee; and one brother, Norbert
(Rosella) Specht, Marshfield.


She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Harold,
Raymond and Kenneth Specht; and one sister, Irene.
